A common mistake made by beginners is not to include enough (or any) dark values.
 I can remember this being the case for myself as well. One of my students was kind enough to be the videographer and let me work on her painting. Hope you enjoy! Comments welcome!

Brooklyn Vase

Got this vase at The Brooklyn Museum gift shop about fifteen years ago and have enjoyed painting it ever since. This is the first time it is appearing alone!

Shallots

Saw this shallot at local farm stand and had to paint it! One is on hot pressed paper, one on cold pressed. Both 5x3 inches.

New Paintings

Having fun painting veggies with neutrals and secondary colors. Hoping to use these in new watercolor book!

Eggplant or Ratatouille

Told my husband I felt like painting an eggplant- he said "get the rest of the ingredients and I'll make ratatouille"! Great! One of my favs!

Mom's Silver Sugar Bowl

All but one are painted on hot pressed paper. It took awhile to learn how to work with the paint on this paper, but now I am loving it! 3x5 inches!
