Lemon Slice and White Flowers

I may have posted this a long time ago, but I'm doing it again because I added a few highlights that seems to have made a big difference in the finishing of the painting. Just reminds me that sometimes it can take years to do a painting even if it's small!

White Rose

Been experimenting with Chinese White contrasted with deep reds.

Reworking

I usually don't back and rework paintings, but this is just what I have been doing since the new year. I'm not saying it's a negative way to paint. I'm glad to be able to see how to improve the work. Guess at different times in one's life, different approaches work.

Floral Study

Worked on this one a bit more; made leaves and background darker- an artist's work is never done!

Holbein Opera Used as a Wash

The green background was too saturated so I used a wash of Holbein Opera to bring it down. Love that color.

Gouache!

I haven't painted with gouache in twenty years; I had used it exclusively as a textile designer and then didn't want to see it again cause it reminded me too much of work!! After seeing a painting by William Cotton, I was inspired to try it. Only used three colors!
