Pitcher Study

I wanted to translate the treatment of the "onion portraits" into other objects and into more than one object. It's mainly integrating the cast shadows with the body shadows. I have the habit of looking at my older work and trying to understand what worked and put that into new work.

"Lemon and Two Pitchers" and "Lemon and Pitcher"both 4x3 inches, watercolor on board

I just love these, Joyce. It's as if they're coming into being on the page right before my eyes. Growing out of he paper...fantastic. I really hope to see many more like this!

beautiful work you do such a great job controlling the edges and creating a watercolor painting that really makes the viewer look twice. your excellent control of the negative space along with edges really makes your work come to life
