Bubble Glass and Flowers

This is a set up I have done often. My concept was to do it in a very direct way. Just digging deeper. Don't know how to put it in words.
3x4 inches, oil on board.

Your little paintings are lovely. This one, with its beautiful colors, has a lot of depth.

My husband was using my computer so that's why his comment is coming from me! Confusing but now I'm good!

Joyce I love your paintings and have your book, do you use real flowers, such as the single roses in the little vases/jars, I know you mention in your book you have a collection of artificial flowers and objects. In your paintings they just looks so real though!

Janice,
Thanks for reading the book! And yes, these are artificial flowers. they are so much more convenient although if I had real ones I'd prefer to use them. Once you get the values right you spend more time looking at the paint rather than the set up so at that point it really doesn't matter real or artificial. Hopefully you can bring the energy of real flowers to your painitng!
